Met ... why?!

So the pharmacy changed the distributor/manufacturer of the Metformin they sell.  After almost two years on it, and after the initial 'break in' period, I have had little to no side-effects.  Until now.

I have to drop  my dosage back to half and that seems to be ok, will increase it in a week and see how that goes, and once more the following back to full strength.  Dropped most if not all carbs, sugars, dairy (with some minor cheese exceptions), and gluten containing items.

Carbs include potatoes, which have been my friend for a very long time ... I miss potatoes.

Anyhow, I am feeling great otherwise, though tired.  I can't seem to shake this fatigue that has settled into my brain.  Perhaps reducing the Met., and the other changes I have made will counter the fatigue.  No serious side effects this round of Chlomid (round 5) so far, each series has been different, and I pray that this will be the successful series!!

My container garden is suffering in the heat and the zucchini will be planted in BIG pots next year if I do it again, they just aren't producing like I would like them to ... one every couple weeks, rather than so many I don't know what to do with them?!  Very a-typical zucchini!!

Summer is winding down.  The cicadas are singing, and have been since the beginning of July.  The earliest I have ever heard them here in NW PA.  The evening bugs have been out in full chorus with the humidity and heat last couple days, a sound that if it could be recorded would be amazing, but it loses something, I think the ambiance and environment is needed to fully appreciate the sound of nature's chorus.

Yesterday morning I saw a hen turkey and nine chicks, about half the size of momma.  They walked through the back yard, and Blitz was enchanted.  This is the first hen I have seen all summer.  Last summer it was just about every day for a while, but this summer, sadly, it seems that there just isn't as many of them despite the early breeding season.  I'm sure the corn, which is six foot+ does nothing to aid visibility, nor does the fact that the other fields this year were planted with soy, and though soy is a great crop, and the birds like the taste of the beans, it is not a tall crop, and not good foraging cover for the turkeys like the corn is.

I didn't get a hunting license this year.  Didn't see really why it would be prudent since last year I just didn't seem to really get into it, nor did I get anything (excepting that darn tree!).  I really would rather hunt with a camera, and push for my hubby than go out and be a shooter.  I don't have a problem shooting, just have a problem remembering THAT is what I am out there FOR!  God's creation is so tremendous, and I tend to get lost in the beauty and grace of the creatures he designed than the fact they'd be really tasty in a stew the coming winter!

Breakfast, then back to work.  I have another room to straighten/clean today, must make the house presentable for company this week.  Yesterday's success has left me sore and stiff.  Moving boxes of books and odds'n ends out of one of the rooms into another that can be closed, and out of sight.  And then going out and pulling grass out of a garden that is 15' x 5', and probably have another section that large again to do still.  A lot for one day, even if it needed done, it was still probably too much for all at once.

In the last four years out here we have experienced cicadas early. I've always noticed that they are earlier here. It seems very common for the West side.
